Marvin Gaye What's Going On... Unity In Our Community USPS Stamp Rally June 27, 2015

Greetings to all Marvin Gaye fan's... It's true. There is a USPS Postage Stamp campaign that is in full effect. The Vote "Yes" For Marvin Gaye's USPS Commemorative Stamp launched on April, 14, 2014. Ms. Zeola Gaye, the baby sister of the late great, Marvin Gaye and author of: My Brother Marvin, A Memoir By Zeola Gaye, and Ms. Carla M. Johnson have began this historical event. In order to get Marvin a USPS Postage Stamp approved we fans must sign petitions. The USPS Stamp Advisory Committee stated that Marvin Gaye is under consideration for future stamp issuance. However, he must get a MILLION votes to receive his stamp. I should mention that Marvin has been denied this honor TWICE!! We are not going to let this happen a Third Time!!! Marvin Gaye is so DESERVING of this stamp. His name should be among other singer artist i,e,. Johnny Cash, Jimi Hendrix, Elvis Presley, and Ray Charles. It has been thirty years since his untimely passing. The campaign is not only for his stamp, but to bring awareness of Marvin's greatness, and reflect on what Marvin Gaye was truly all about. Also, to reflect on his many contributions as well. Marvin Pentz Gaye, born April 1, 1939.  Born and raised in Washington D.C. He became a music legend when he stepped foot inside the door of Motown. Also known as, Hitsville USA. Berry Gordy is the founder of the famous building of singing superstars. However, in the 60's & 70's, Marvin Gaye climbed the charts with number one singles, top ten hits, and numerous top selling albums. In the early 70's to name one that hit the radio circuit and made a lasting impression on our society and the world is, "What's Going On."  Berry Gordy didn't believe the album would sell. Marvin proved him all so wrong. This question is still unanswered to this day. "We need some loving here today." Yes, we are still having wars, hunger, injustice, unfair equality, and we are losing our children. Marvin even prayed for our children, with his endearing song, "Save The Children." Marvin has won a great many awards. He has a park and street named after him in his hometown of Washington DC. He received the key to the city, a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. He won a grammy for "Sexual Healing." An American Music Award. And posthumously awards too. Now, Carla M. Johnson has a vision. Her vision is to set up a facility, in Marvin's honor to help aide drug and alcohol abusers, in the Washington D.C., in the near future. But for now her main focus is getting his stamp. Also, along with Zeola Gaye, she is tentatively planning a stamp rally for Marvin at his Park on June 27, 2015. You can learn more about the rally and how to become a part of this historical event.
